يستقر عاليًا على الحلزون، الحافة العلوية للأذن، حيث يلتقط ضوءًا لا يبلغه قرط شحمة الأذن أبدًا. وحيث تتزين Elara بالـpavé، فإن Dapple هي القطعة اليومية: تنزلق في ثانية واحدة، وتُرتدى فوق قرط برغي أو حلقة، ولا تطلب شيئًا من إطلالتكم.

أسميتها تيمنًا بالضوء المرقش — ذلك الضوء الذي يمر عبر الأوراق ويهبط في بقع مضيئة، غير متساوٍ أبدًا. وهذا بالضبط ما يفعله الطرق في هذا السوار. فالتجاويف غير منتظمة عمدًا، كبيرة وصغيرة معًا، لأن الملمس المتساوي يصبح مسطحًا وساكنًا؛ أما غير المتساوي فيواصل بريقه. إنها القطعة غير الرسمية، تلك التي تعيش على الأذن.
