"After the pearl Nora, I wanted the same architecture in a stone with shadow — smoky quartz was the immediate answer. I chose smoothly polished beads over faceted ones deliberately: facets would have made it glittery, and I wanted the light to move across the stone like smoke, slow and soft. Same 5-inch (12.7 cm) drop, same dainty chain, same gold post — the silhouette is a proven thing, but the quartz gives it a completely different personality after dark."
