"The Solange necklace is all about texture and organic contrast. I love the visual trick of using a bright red knotting thread so that it peeks through the center of the clear crystal quartz—it ties perfectly into the natural red coral beads. Because we use real, earth-mined stones, they have their own little quirks, inclusions, and flaws, which I think makes them so much more beautiful than something synthetic. We finished it by dropping that massive, hand-formed molten gold pendant from a large piece of coral to give it this incredible, grounding weight and movement."
