De Hera is in de eerste plaats een lichaamsstuk en pas daarna een ketting — meerdere met de hand geknoopte rijen gefacetteerde zwarte onyx, elke steen in een andere vorm geslepen, zodat het licht op elke kraal anders breekt. Elke rij wordt aan de voorkant samengenomen in één hanger: een cluster van uiteenlopende onyxvormen, verankerd door een grote Swarovski-kristallen druppel die scherpe flitsen werpt tegen de donkere stenen.
Gedragen in harnasstijl glijdt de achterste rij over het hoofd en wikkelt zich om de torso, zodat het stuk met het lichaam meebeweegt in plaats van op één plek te zitten. Elke kraal is met de hand gestikt en met de hand geknoopt in ons atelier — geen twee rijen vallen hetzelfde. Een uniek archiefstuk; een tweede zal nooit worden gemaakt.
Opmerking van de kunstenaar
“Ik zou de Hera dragen wanneer de outfit eenvoudig blijft en de sieraden het woord doen — een strakke zwarte slipdress of een open rug, haar omhoog, zodat de rijen ruimte hebben om te bewegen. De onyx is volledig zwarte facetten, dus hij drinkt het licht en werpt het terug in flitsen — hij houdt van blote huid en heeft niets gelaagds nodig. En vergeet de achterkant niet — de rij langs uw ruggengraat is de helft van het stuk.”
