The Norbu Coin Harness starts with vintage Tibetan coins bought in bulk at a gem show — a deep, mixed lot with real age on them. Every link of the harness was opened and closed by hand to set each coin individually, and silver beads are woven through the chains on durable thread so the whole piece moves as one articulated surface. The patina on the coins was kept on purpose: this is not supposed to look shiny, bright, and new. It has lived a little, and that character is the design.
Worn over the shoulders and torso, the harness drapes like ceremonial armor — equal parts jewelry and garment. An extension chain at the back adjusts the fit and ends in a small hermit-head bead, a quiet signature for the one person who will ever own it. One of one — once claimed, it is gone forever.
